Sources
A source is one thing to read on one platform: a TikTok hashtag, an Instagram profile, a Facebook page, a YouTube keyword, a Shopee product. Every collection of the project reads each active source once.
Add a source
- Open the project and go to the Sources tab.
- Click Add a source (or Add sources on an empty dashboard).
- Pick the Platform and the Type, then enter the Value: a hashtag, a handle, a profile or page URL, a search term, or a product, shop, place or app URL.
- Optional: set Posts / run (or Reviews / run) and the other collection options.
- Click Add.
Values are normalized: #Skincare, skincare and a hashtag URL become the same source, and a profile can be entered as
@handle or as its URL. Adding the same thing twice is refused. The number of sources per project depends on your plan
(see Limits and billing).
Source types by platform
| Platform | Types | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | hashtag, profile | |
hashtag, profile | ||
page | ||
| YouTube | keyword, hashtag, channel | |
| Threads | profile, keyword | Keyword search needs a signed-in session (see below). |
| X | profile, keyword | Keyword search needs a signed-in session (see below). |
keyword, profile, board | A board is a board URL or user/board. Search returns the newest pins. | |
| Lemon8 | profile, hashtag, keyword | A hashtag can be a topic URL or a hashtag name. |
subreddit, keyword, profile | A keyword like r/VietNam phở searches one subreddit. | |
| Telegram | channel | Public channels only. No keyword search: the project keywords filter the channel's posts. |
| News | keyword | 150+ Vietnamese news sites and Google News. The author is the news site. |
| Forum | keyword | Voz, Otofun, Tinhte, Webtretho, r/VietNam. |
| Shopee | product, shop, keyword | Reviews. Keyword reads the reviews of the top 5 products of a search. |
| Tiki | product, shop, keyword | Reviews. A shop reads its 10 best-selling products. |
| Lazada | product, shop, keyword | Reviews. A shop reads its 10 best-selling products. |
| TikTok Shop | product, shop | Reviews. A shop is the shop's TikTok account. |
| Google Maps | place, keyword | Reviews. Keyword is a place search such as "phở hà nội" (top 5 places). |
| App Store | app, keyword | Reviews. Each country's store is its own source. |
| Google Play | app, keyword | Reviews. |
Review sources are covered in detail in Reviews.
A few searches (Threads and X keywords, Shopee keyword search, the newest reviews of TikTok Shop and Google Maps) only
work with a signed-in session that Lantfly provides. When none is available, the source shows Blocked with the code
LOGIN_REQUIRED and is retried later. You never get a silent "0 posts".
Collection options
Each source collects according to settings that come, in order, from the source, then the project (Settings → What to collect), then Lantfly's defaults. A source set to Per project follows the project.
| Option | Applies to | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Posts | Post sources | On |
| Comments | Post sources on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Lemon8, Reddit | Off |
| Reviews | Review sources | On |
| Review comments | Tiki review sources | On |
| Platform stats of the target | Review sources | On |
| Posts / run or Reviews / run | Every source | 30 (max 500) |
| Comments per post | Post sources with comments on | 50 (max 500) |
| Stars to read, Products per search, Products per shop, Review languages, More countries | Review sources | See Reviews |
Turning posts off also turns comments off; turning reviews off turns review comments and target stats off. A source with nothing left to collect is skipped and shows Collects nothing by its settings.
The first collection of a new source reads up to 3 times its posts per run (at most 500), so the feed starts with more than the newest handful.
Comments as mentions
With comments on, after a successful collection Lantfly reads the comments of the source's 10 most engaging recent posts
(posted within the last 7 days and with comments). Comments become mentions of kind comment linked to their post. Each
batch of comments is an extra run, billed like any collection.
Collect now
Collect now in the project header reads every active source right away instead of waiting for the interval.
Before it runs, it adds your project keywords as keyword sources on every platform that supports keyword search
(YouTube, Threads, X, Pinterest, Lemon8, Reddit, news, forums and the review platforms with search) where the project
does not have them yet. Each standalone keyword is added, and each contextual keyword is combined with each context
keyword. These are normal sources you can edit, turn off or remove.
- A source you turned off stays off. A source you deleted comes back on the next Collect now: turn it off instead.
- Sources stop being added at your plan's source limit.
- The scheduled collection never adds sources.
To collect a single source, use Collect this source now on its row.
Collection status
The Sources tab shows the result of each source's latest collection. Hover a badge to see the error codes.
| Status | Meaning | Retried? |
|---|---|---|
| Succeeded | Every target answered | — |
| Partial | Some posts, but part of the targets were blocked or failed | No |
| Empty | No posts and nothing blocked: the hashtag or search really is quiet | No |
| Blocked | The platform refused (BLOCKED, LOGIN_REQUIRED, RATE_LIMITED) | Yes |
| Failed | Another error | Yes |
| Stale | No result came back in time | No; the next collection runs normally |
Blocked and failed collections are retried after about 10, 30 and 90 minutes, at most 3 times. The project header shows separate badges for sources being collected and sources being retried. A source that is already being collected is not started twice.
Suggested sources
The Suggested sources panel on the Sources tab lists sources worth adding, from the last 90 days of your feed:
- hashtags that contain one of your keywords (for example
#hoptaccungvelyniqwhen you trackvelyniq); - authors with at least 2 posts, as profile or page sources.
Up to 10 of each are shown. Click one to add it.
Add posts by link
Listings only show recent posts, so older posts or posts under a tag you do not watch may never appear. Use Add posts by link to paste up to 200 post URLs from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, X, Pinterest, Lemon8, Reddit or Telegram.
- Links already in the feed are skipped.
- The rest are read in runs of up to 50 links per platform, billed like any collection.
- Every post read this way is kept, without the keyword filter.
- Blocked links are retried like sources; deleted or private posts are not.
Edit, turn off and remove sources
- Edit (pencil icon) changes the value, posts per run, comments per post and the other options. The platform and type cannot change: remove the source and add a new one. A new value is a new target: its status, retries and historical crawl start over. Mentions already found stay.
- Turn off keeps the source but stops collecting it; Turn on resumes it.
- Remove deletes the source. Mentions it found stay in the feed.
Bulk actions
Select several sources (up to 200) to Turn on, Turn off, Collect now, Remove, set Posts / run or set Stars to read at once.
Filter the list
Search sources by value, filter by platform, and filter by state: On, Off or With a problem. Sources with a problem are listed first.
Data sources and API keys
Owners and admins can add their own keys under Settings → Data sources, such as a YouTube Data API key, an Instagram Graph API token or a Reddit app. Lantfly then uses the official API first where it fits. Keys are stored encrypted and only shown masked. See Data sources. On the project's Settings tab, Advanced: paid fallback and API keys controls whether a paid fallback vendor (when you have added its key) is used first, last, or as set for the account.
Collection history
The project's Recent collections list shows the latest collections with their status, posts found and
new mentions. With the API, GET /listening/projects/{project}/collections pages through all of them.
