Alerts

Alerts watch a project and notify you when something happens. They go to the notification bell, email and the account's chat channels (Slack, Discord, Telegram, Zalo, webhooks, email lists).

Alert types

TypeFires whenSettings
Viral postA post reaches a view count, or its views grow by a percentage within 24 hoursViews reach; or views grow by (%) for posts with at least N views (default 1,000). Set at least one
Negative mentionA post is labeled negative by the sentiment analysis—
Creator postedA creator you follow (Creators → Track creator), or one of the listed handles, publishes a new postHandles (optional); empty: every followed creator
Volume spikeToday's mentions exceed a multiple of the 7-day daily averageTimes the 7-day average (default 3), At least (mentions today) (default 10)
New leadA new post or comment has the intent seeker—
Low ratingA new review of a watched product, shop, place or app has this many stars or fewerStars or fewer: 1 or 2 (default 2)

Each rule alerts once per mention; a volume spike alerts at most once per day. A project can have up to 20 rules.

Create an alert

  1. Open the project's Alerts tab and click Add alert.
  2. Pick the Rule type and fill in its settings.
  3. Optional: give it a Name.
  4. Save. The rule is Active right away.

Edit changes a rule; changing the threshold keeps the rule and when it last fired. Turn a rule off to pause it, or delete it with its history. Recent alerts lists the last 50 that fired.

Who gets alerts

Alerts use the listening.alert notification type, on in the bell and by email by default. Each person chooses their channels in Notification settings (see Notifications).

  • When the account restricts listening projects per member, bell and email alerts go only to owners, admins and members with a role on that project.
  • Guests of a shared project do not receive alerts.
  • Chat channels belong to the account, so they receive the alerts of every project. Filter the notification types of a channel, or create a separate channel, to narrow them.

Webhooks

To push every new mention to your own system rather than only alerts, subscribe to the LISTENING.MENTION.CREATED webhook event. See Webhooks.
